Introduction
Thank you for using MonQcle. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. This Privacy Policy is a part of our Terms of Use. If you have any questions or comments, or if you want to update, delete, or change any personal information you have submitted on the Service, please e-mail monqcle@temple.edu.
MonQcle is owned and operated by the Center for Public Health Law Research at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, located at 1719 N. Broad Street, Klein Hall, Room 509, Philadelphia, PA, 19122. The Center for Public Health Law Research at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law will be referred to as “CPHLR” under this Policy. MonQcle, which is our Software as a Service, will be referred to as the “Service.” Users of this Service will be referred to as “User” or “you” under this Privacy Policy.
In the course of providing the Services, CPHLR may collect Personal Information about a User. This Privacy Policy is effective with respect to any data CPHLR has collected or will collect, about and/or from you, according to our Terms of Use.
If there are any changes to this Privacy Policy, CPHLR will post them on the Service. Any changes will be effective as of the last date we post on the Service. CPHLR will not treat information of any open account differently from any other open account. If we ever change our Privacy Policy to expand our rights to use or disclose personal information for marketing purposes, you will be able to opt out without termination.
User Information
When you create an account to use the Service or send us an e-mail, you are giving us information that CPHLR collects. That information may include your IP address, name, physical address, email address, phone number, and other details like occupation and demographic information. Please be aware that if you create an account or log-in through Facebook, and other social media log-in methods, you agree to allow us to use any information publicly visible through that platform. By giving CPHLR this information, you consent to your information being collected, used, disclosed, and stored by CPHLR, only as described in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
CPHLR may get information about how and when you use the Service. This information may include your IP address, time, date, browser used, and actions taken by you within the Service.
When you create an account to use the Service, CPHLR stores cookies, or strings of code, on your computer. CPHLR uses cookies and other tracking technologies to improve the browsing experience on our website, to analyze website traffic, to understand where you are coming from, collect information about when you visit the Service, your browser type and version, your operating system, and any other similar information. By browsing the Service, you consent to our use of cookies and other tracking technologies. You may disable cookies but doing so may make the Service more difficult to use.
CPHLR may use and disclose your personal information only as follows:
CPHLR saves collected information in the database. Passwords are encrypted using sha512, so only the encrypted sha512 code from the password is saved. CPHLR also saves a token in a session cookie. The token is a code generated after authorization. This session cookie is for the browser to remember if a user is logged in, and it expires in 30 minutes.
CPHLR uses Google Analytics, Stripe, and Loggly, all of which are third-party sites that may use and store your information.
CPHLR uses Google Analytics to measure and report user statistics. Google collects first-party cookies, data related to the device/browser, IP address and on-site/app activities. CPHLR does not save any user information or customized data other than that collected by Google’s default settings. For more information on the information collected by Google Analytics, click here. CPHLR has no control over and assumes no responsibility for how Google uses and processes user data, but users can disable Google Analytics from using their information here.
CPHLR may use Stripe to process and manage payments for subscriptions. Stripe receives all transaction information. The information they collect may include payment method information, such as credit or debit card numbers and bank account information; the transaction amount; and the transaction date. For more information on what Stripe may be collecting and how it uses the data, view its Privacy Policy under the section "Personal Data We Collect."
CPHLR uses Loggly to monitor activity and analyze trends on the Service. Loggly sends users browser error to a Loggly-hosted portal so CPHLR can log in to check what kind of errors we have from the user-side so we can fix the errors.
Our Service includes links to other websites, whose privacy policies might be different than that of CPHLR. If you submit any personal information to any of those websites, your information will be governed by their privacy policies.
Security
If a security breach causes an unauthorized use of the system that materially affects you, CPHLR will notify you as soon as possible after becoming aware of the breach and report our actions in response.
Accounts for the Service requires a username and password to log in. You are responsible for keeping your username and password secure. Do not disclose your username and password to a third party.
Compliance
If your account data changes, you are responsible for notifying CPHLR of those changes. This includes switching to a new email address.
You also can ask to review any of the information that we have retained, how we have used it, and to whom we have disclosed it at any time by contacting us at span class="c15 c4">monqcle@temple.edu. Subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law, and provided we can authenticate your identity, we will provide you with access to any personal information that we hold within 30 days of any request for that information. You will be entitled to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and to have it amended as appropriate. Unless prohibited by law, we will remove any personal information about you from our servers at your request.
